This slide was a part of the original slideshow. Several pictures of volcanic eruptions were deleted from the January 2008 slideshow. Several bullet points were added in the March 2008 slideshow.

How Useful Are Frozen Pictures of Explosions?

They can be very useful when you don't want people to recognize a key feature of explosions - the track of debris flying up.

In this slide, Gage has two pictures of large explosions happening in small buildings. They are pictures of buildings exploding in Iraq. How Gage thinks that missiles being shot into small buildings in Iraq has anything to do with the physical events of 110-story and 47-story skyscrapers is beyond me.

If you watch the WTC tower collapses carefully, you will see that debris only goes out and down, not up. The only exception to this is the lightest debris with the highest surface area, such as some of the aluminum cladding. The building itself falls away from where the debris left it, trailing the smoke and dust behind it. That is what makes the arced appearance of the smoke and dust.

An explosion is not hurling debris up out of the WTC towers. The debris is falling out and down, and the building is then falling away from that point.

This is not how an explosion acts. This is how falling debris acts when it has ricocheted off something below.

This is one of the more subtle deceptions you will find in Gage's presentation. I would love to be able to say that Gage has fooled himself here. Many others have by simply looking at still shots of explosions and comparing them to images of the WTC collapses. It is not easy to see unless you're looking for it.

But fooled or not, Gage is presenting a deception here. And either way, that makes him an untrustworthy guide into these matters.

(By the way, this particular argument doesn't apply to Building 7 at all. It's one of the reasons Gage couldn't use a single list for both the collapses.)

Pyroclastic Clouds And Sounds of Explosions

Gage has added some bullet points to these slides in the March 2008 slideshow. They are reproduced below:

• Sounds explosions
• Flashes of light
• Thick billowing smoke
• pyroclastic clouds of pulverized concrete

Gage corrected a misspelling of the word "pyroclastic", but he didn't take the opportunity to read the actual definition of "pyroclastic cloud." It's a geological term describing the rapidly spreading, high-temperature cloud of dust and ashes spewed from a volcano during eruption. The dust clouds coming from these buildings and from the WTC buildings are NOT pyroclastic clouds. There's a whole slide devoted to this particular fantasy, and I'll deal with the specifics there.

Also, Gage will want to add "of" to that first bullet eventually. He's going to later reproduce account after account of explosions from the three buildings. The only thing he won't do is play you a tape of them.

It's remarkable that he won't. The towers collapsing were probably among the most filmed and watched events in history ever. Even 7 World Trade is on several tapes, but as a prominent demolition company has determined (PDF), there are no telltale sounds of actual explosive devices in any of them. There are no telltale signs of explosive devices in seismographs that recorded these events either.

Demolition companies have to be able to analyze data like this to know if all charges in a CD actually went off or not. They are the perfect people to analyze this information, and they can't find them. And as I will show later on, there are so many things that can explode naturally in a fire and sound like explosive devices, it is no wonder that accounts of explosions surround these massively destructive events. Things were exploding in these buildings!

Just no explosive devices.

The Iraqi War

Again, this slide demonstrates exactly why Gage is seeking to prove his conspiracy theories. He is politically against the Iraqi War and sees the attacks of 9/11 as a primary justification for these wars, which they were.

Opponents of the war in Iraq might try to discount the use of the 9/11 attacks as a justification for the Iraq War in several ways, many of which might be valid arguments. However, Gage and his fellow theorists have taken the unusual step of convicting the U.S. Government itself of these attacks (or some other interested country, such as Israel). If 9/11 is an inside job, they reason, then the U.S. Government and others deliberately attacked its own people so that they could then attack Iraq.

I don't want to get into arguments about false flag operations at this site. Such a discussion has no place in an examination of the physical evidence. However, it is a primary reason why the 9/11 Truth Movement exists, and it should be noted that a belief in 9/11 conspiracy theories isn't a necessary part of objection to the Iraqi War at all.

That said, I will return to this subject here only with reluctance.
