Warning or Preparation?
This slide was added to the May 2008 slideshow. The Sly Wink of the Conspirators
This slide consists of a single quote from George W. Bush. It reads as follows:
At this moment, somewhere in the world, terrorists are planning new attacks on our country. Their goal is to bring destruction to our shores that will make September the 11th pale by comparison.
This happens to be true. There are people who are planning terror attacks on America and Americans. Americans would be foolish not to include this into their plans.
However, Gage suggests that is not just a stupid politician using the politics of fear to get his way. No, that's not bad enough for Richard Gage. This is actually one of many "sly winks" that conspiracy theorists believe they see people in power indulging in.
For example, Gage will later be showing you footage of a mistaken broadcast by the BBC about the collapse of 7 World Trade. He believes that BBC may have "read the script" too early.
He will show you a remark by Larry Silverstein about the collapse of WTC 7 that has been twisted by the 9/11 Truth Movement like you wouldn't believe. He will snatch a single statement made in pique by a single person and use it to condemn the entire NIST report.
On and on it will go. Richard Gage would have you believe that these people in our own society not only planned and carried out these attacks, but that they now openly gloat about it on national television in oblique references and sidelong admissions to their sin.
Is it awful that George Bush is waving the September 11th attacks over the heads of Americans? Yes, it is, but no more awful that it is for Richard Gage to wave George Bush over the heads of his audience. Both are engaging in the politics of fear. Al Qaeda gave George Bush a whip to drive his people into war, thinking that they would be able to destroy us by the power of Allah in Afghanistan. But no less a gift did they give people like Richard Gage, who build of their own fears another whip to agitate fear and irrational dissent in the minds of anyone who would listen to him.
Yes, George Bush and Richard Gage, terrible men are plotting evil things at this very minute. But as FDR said, the only thing we really need to fear is fear itself, especially when wielded so ably by such somber merchants as these two.
